A native of China, Anemone's have been cultivated in Japan for centuries. A late summer blooming perennial, the Anemone is well suited for borders, cottage gardens, or naturalized areas. They take a couple years to really establish, but once they do Anemone's will form a nice colony spreading by underground rhizomes, filling in part shade to sun locations in the garden with their delicate blooms. They prefer consistent moisture so it can be helpful to mulch in the summer to conserve moisture and protect from the cold of winter. A pretty, carefree perennial with late season charm that attracts butterflies and is deer resistant!
