MULLEIN
Mullein (Verbascum) is a common wildflower that has been used in traditional herbal cold and cough medicine for centuries and there are numerous hybrid species that are well suited for garden cultivation. Mullein blooms over a long period, from late spring well into late summer if properly deadheaded, but leave some seed heads at end of season foR next year's crop. Mullein can be planted in gardens without any problems or major care. They prefer dry and sunny locations and feel extremely comfortable in stone garden beds or also in dry open spaces in poor soil. This is a drought loving perennial and will not tolerate water logged soil. Good drainage is essential.
