WISTERIA
With incredible fragrance and long racemes of purple flowers, the beauty of the Wisteria is unmatched! Hanging gracefully from trellises, arbors, or pergolas, this long lived woody vine is a fast grower and can completely transform a garden in just a few years to provide shade cover, privacy screen, or focal point. These vines can easily be trained to grow where you want them to, but make sure the support is sturdy. Wisteria will take several years to really get established, but it is worth the wait! Make sure to plant in full sun, with well draining soil, and do not over water or fertilize heavy with nitrogen, as this will create more leaves at the expense of flower buds.
