- PHLOX, WOODLAND
woodland phlox
A perfect plant for gardens with dappled shade, Woodland Phlox is native to forest and woodland setting and creates a slow spreading ground cover. Plants grow well under trees, large shrubs, or anywhere that mimics its natural habitat. It likes compost rich soil and even moisture - imagine walking thru the soft, rich ground of a forest in spring where blue and pink flowers bloom in abundance under the trees. Woodland Phlox is also an ideal plant for the front of a semi-shaded border. Flowers appear after Creeping Phlox but before Salvias, perfectly filling in the perennial color gap.
