CHERRY PLUM
A 'cherry plum' refers to a hybrid cross between a cherry and a plum. Most of the original cherry plums were produced by crossing a sand cherry and a Japanese plum. There is a great deal of diversity to this species, with some varieties staying more shrub-like and others growing into a small tree. One of the first species of prunus to bloom in the spring, with lovely pinkish white flowers. The fruit can be found in a range of colors, flavors, and sizes, used for jams, jellies, canning, and sauces.

Early bearing hybrid variety that yields fruit the second year after planting. Small tree, about 5-8 feet at maturity. Small, sweet but tart fruit are best used in jams and jellies. Good pollinator for other varieties of plum.
