LETTUCE 

Lettuce is an easy, reliable vegetable to grow.  Lettuce grows quickly in full sun, but tolerates partial shade, and will delay bolting if shaded during the hot summer months. As a cool weather crop lettuce can be planted several weeks before the last frost date, but cover if a extreme cold freeze is in the forecast. Plant in well draining soil, and water consistently and evenly to produce great flavor and avoid bitterness.
