VIOLA
A well-loved favorite, Violas produce colorful flowers that favor cool weather. With lobed-shape, overlapping petals, violas have a unique look that ranges in colors and patterns. Viola are smaller than pansies and more hardier than pansies, giving them higher success at reseeding. They are extremely versatile, and you will often find them in containers, borders, baskets, or as a ground cover. They provide reliable color year round even in snow or frost. Plant violas in moist, rich, and well draining soil in full sun to partial shade.
