VERONICA
Veronica is such a versatile and elegant plant. As a groundcover it is one of our favorites, as it has cascading deep-green foliage speckled with small purple flowers. However, Veronica also has an upright variety that features a gorgeous plume of blue, purple, or rose colored blossoms. Both are deer resistant and cold hardy. Veronica prefers to be planted in full sun to part sun in well-drained soil, with low water requirements. It begins to bloom in early summer, but with an extended bloom time, it continues to produce flowers late into the season. Bees and butterflies cover the blooms all summer, making it a delightful sight.
