PEARS
Pears are relatively uncommon in our area, but there are several varieties that are hardy and easy to grow. They are a very beautiful landscape tree with a pyramidal shape and glossy green leaves. In addition, they have beautiful white flowers in the springtime. Pears do require cross pollination of a different variety for optimum fruit production.
European Pears have a soft, creamy texture while Asian Pears have a crips, apple-like texture. Several varieties of both are hardy to our Wyoming climate.
