Houseplants are known to improve mood, decrease fatigue and stress, plus they have great visual appeal. With Wyoming's long, cold, and dry winter, houseplants can feel healing and calming. If you travel frequently and want a beautiful low maintenance house plants, succulents are the plant for you. With crazy shapes, names, and colors, succulents are endless fun for anyone! Succulents are desert plants, and they are known for their distinctive thick tissue that is adapted for water storage. The pattern of their leaves give succulents an exotic appeal that sets them apart from other plants. Fairly easy to grow, succulents usually need little water and little care. Depending on the type of succulent, light requirement may vary. Plant in extremely well draining soil that may contain rocks or sand. Water succulents only when the soil is dry. Try to avoid getting moisture on the leaves. Most succulents are compact like to be planted in small containers where their roots will fill the space. A general rule of thumb is to plant your succulent in a container that is 5-10% larger than the size of the succulent.
