Phlox is a native, cold hardy perennial to Wyoming. These types of Phlox grow upright and skyward on strong vibrant green stems. Blooming in mid summer, Phlox exhibits clusters of perfectly arranged five petal flowers that come in an array of exciting colors. Phlox is cold hardy, somewhat deer tolerant, and prefers well drained soil with average moisture in full sun. It is extremely fragrant making it a plant that keeps hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies frequently visiting all summer long. It is a compact but tall choice, making it a great backdrop in smaller gardens.
