BLUEBERRY
Who can resist the sweet taste of a fresh blueberry? Sprouts offers several hardy varieties that will perform well in our climate given the right growing conditions. Blueberry shrubs do require acidic soil. A regular fertilizing routine is essential for the health and productivity of the plant. There is fertilizer specific for blueberries, or you can add other things to the soil such as sulphur, Miracid, peat, or even coffee grounds. Blueberries are best grown in full sun and sandy soil that is well draining and high in organic matter. They also benefit from cross-pollination, be sure to plant more than one variety for added success.
