SUMAC

Sumacs are a wonderful landscape plant, with unique leaf shapes and colorful fall foliage. Great for steep banks to control soil erosion and other difficult areas, but also highly ornamental with soft green leaves and a low growing, spreading habit. Very aromatic, but sometimes deer do find them to be a tasty treat. There are native varieties of Sumac that grow in our area, identifiable by their beautiful bright red leaves in the fall.
