Perennials for season long interest
Choosing the right perennials for your garden can be challenging. With so many different varieties that bloom at variable times of the season, creating a palette of color and texture that will catch the eye all season long is the goal of any successful garden designer. These are some recommended perennials that will provide continuous bloom power or much needed foliage color and texture to your garden. Some perennials will bloom and/or look beautiful all season from spring to frost (deadheading helps promote flowering), and some provide an extended bloom time- like the Coneflower or Black Eyed Susan- once they start, they do not stop! And Salvias will send forth another flush of blooms in late summer if you cut them back after first flowering. Leaving the seed heads over winter, in particular ornamental grasses or coneflowers, provide winter interest and forage for wildlife.
